2 days ago, I was all about Balenciaga's printed handbags for Summer, but the look works for fall, as evidenced by Oscar de la Renta's Petitpoint Faifax bag.
You can always count on de la Renta to make use of interesting materials or craftsmanship, and this is no different. The intricate print is embroidered onto black calfskin leather, in a palette of dusky shades perfect for the cooler season. The bag has a boxy shape wt the bottom, which is softened nicely on top by a circular handle threaded through the top making for a soft, gathered, ruffle, effect.
This is truly a special bag worth it's weight in craftsmanship, and the price does reflect that. It's $2290 at Oscar de la Renta.
