Trapped in the Closet: Gap Edition

My friend Janel did some shopping this morning while I was pontificating and showed up with some great pieces from the Gap European Collection, currently on sale at select Gap stores (including the one in Times Square) and online. I think my favorite piece is the tie-belt top in navy (d'oh! I mean "celestial blue," which I snapped a pic of in the closet here at the Affinia Manhattan. It's nice that a piece of clothing that appears to look good on a model and in magazines actually does look good in real life.

What to wear it with? Steer clear of jeans; you'll never get the blues to coordinate. Instead opt for a fresh pair of white linen trousers (but without a paper-bag waist - you don't want two fabric ties around your midsection) or wide-legged khakis. And if you're feeling really bold, a pencil skirt in olive green or chocolate brown would be nice for the office!

Sheesh. I've been here nearly five hours and I haven't purchased anything yet myself! I'm just waiting for the right piece to come along, obviously. Luckily, Century 21 is open until 10pm tonight. Racks and racks of crappy clothes through which I'll have to dig to find those two or three hidden gems...here I come!
